Some approach of this sort must be used because it seems clear that there​ ​has not​ ​been sufficient incentive for those in power to correct the many flaws in​ ​our current​ ​system. What approach could be used? I think we need some way​ ​to ensure that the​ ​leaders are accountable to those they represent. Perhaps a​ ​good way would be​ ​universal basic income, where every citizen receives a​ ​regular payment from the​ ​government. Some kind of voting mechanism would also be needed. I imagine that a​ ​blockchain could provide some help here to​ ​prevent voter fraud and manipulation.​ ​Achieving consensus would also be a​ ​problem. I think that there is some hope to​ ​achieve this through Al, but it might take decades for such an Al to develop.
